When deciding to visit a destination, especially for the first time, but even for repeat visitors, it is important that you get it right, and that’s where Keystravel steps in. We are experts of our destinations. We are not some travel agent in another city or another country that has never been there that is working off brochures to make a commission. We are locals. Locals who have lived and breathed our destinations for decades, first as visitors ourselves to our destinations, long before ever deciding to make a business out of our love for each of the destinations we represent.
Rand Scott Wagner first came to Key West for 6 nights in 1993 to visit his father, who made Key West his winter home, and Rand fell so in love with the place, he went back to New York City to pack up his things, and was living there 3 weeks later. After 2 years on “the rock”, Rand started Keystavel. Now 22 years later Rand’s passion for his island remains undiminished, and his knowledge of his beloved island is unrivaled. He has personally inspected and photographed each accommodation he represents, well over 400 of them, and has also taken all of the tours and excursions, as he trusts no one with your vacation and his reputation, with the exception of his partner Evelyn.
Evelyn Vera is a citizen of Ecuador, and like Rand, Evelyn has an undying lifelong passion for the Galapagos Islands. It is Ecuador’s finest treasure and revered by all her country. Famous for Pirates, and eventually Explorers, the Galapagos Islands is now a place that everyone has heard of all around the world, a household name that is now an emerging market for Adventure Travel.
When Evelyn fist suggested to Rand that Keystravel should expand to Galapagos, Rand visited the Galapagos Islands for a whole month as a tourist, one with the experience of a seasoned travel agent, and he was transformed by the incredible Beauty of the Galapagos Islands and it’s amazing Animals. With Evelyn as his guide, Rand did the same thing he did with Key West, which is to personally inspect and photograph each property, and to personally take the tours and excursions. With Evelyn’s intimate knowledge of the Galapagos Islands, and Rand’s extensive knowledge of running a Customer First Travel Agency, Keystravel is your trusted partner in planning your successful visit to the Galapagos Archipelago.
At trip to Galapagos is likely one of the most difficult trips on Earth to plan on your own. The logistics are daunting. The logistical challenges start with deciding which Ecuador Mainland airport to fly into, and out of (yes, they may be different) and also which island in Galapagos to fly into, and out of (and yes, they may also be different). Then you must choose which flight to take, paying special attention to what time it arrives in Ecuador, and how that relates to your flights into and out of Galapagos. Will you need a hotel room on the Continent before flying in to Galapagos, and how will the limited number of flights and flight times into Galapagos mesh with your accommodations and tour itinerary. Even the timing of your transportation in between islands must be carefully scheduled to avoid missing out on already paid nights in your accommodations and already paid for tours, requiring you to pay for an unplanned night in a hotel until you can get back on track the next day, while having also lost your morning tour on the next island. Just one mistake at the start of your journey can throw off your whole itinerary, causing a domino effect that erases many of the things you have traveled so far to see and do. Please, do not try to plan a Galapagos Vacation on your own, and do not use a traditional travel agent. You can count on Keystravel to advise you properly and execute a solid plan.
