When you walk down this path, you don't need to be doing so in philosophical terms if all you wish to do is snorkel at the statue! Members of the Darwinian Divers Club are welcome here too.

Contrary to popular opinion, this is not the only place to dive and snorkel in the Keys, as great diving spots are found all throughout the Keys, and the very same coral reef extends all the way down to Key West and beyond!

If you wished to stay in Key Largo or Tavernier anyway, then obviously this park is worth the visit. However, if swimming with the statue is not the primary purpose of your visit to the Keys, then rest assured that anywhere in the Keys will offer you quality snorkel & dive opportunities.

Pennekamp Park is worth the visit if convenient, but it is not necessary to plan your stay around it if your overall vacation would be better served in Islamorada, Marathon or Key West.
