Probably the nicest beach in the Florida Keys is... surprise ...Sombrero Beach in Marathon!

Contrary to the buzz about it's neighbor just to the south over the 7 Mile Bridge, this beach, located at Mile Marker 50 on the Atlantic has plenty of sand beside the ocean, as well as a nice sandy bottom (which you can clearly see through the crystal clear emerald & blue water).

Great shallow and deep water swimming for the whole family. Facilities include a playground, picnic area with BBQ pits and restrooms. Pets are welcome here and there's no admission. If you are staying in or near Marathon, you owe it to yourself to try Sombrero Beach and see for yourself!
